Steve Allison serves as Vice Chair of the VIA MTA Board of Trustees

After previously serving as an elected member of the Board of Trustees of the highly regarded Alamo Heights Independent School District, including three terms as President, as well as three years on the Board of Trustees of the Texas Association of School Boards, Steve Allison has been a member of the Board of Trustees of VIA Metropolitan Transit Authority since 2010, representing the twelve suburban city members of the VIA system. VIA is the multi-modal transportation system serving the greater San Antonio and Bexar County areas. The Board oversees an operation with 2,000 employees, serving 44 million passengers per year, and an operating budget of $203 million. Steve currently holds the position of Vice-Chairman and is currently serving or has served as a member of the Executive Committee, member and Chair of the Planning and Project Development Committee, member and Chair of the Intergovernmental Relations and Public Affairs Committee, Chair of the Audit Committee, Chair of the Real Estate Committee, and member of the Operational Oversight and Finance Committee. He has testified on VIA’s behalf before the Legislature on transportation issues and, through his active VIA Board involvement, is a member of the Steering Committee for the “SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan”.
